This was a BIG STUDY, it involved almost 84,000 men. They observed that excessive weight gain in young adulthood increased the risk of advanced and high-grade prostate cancers (the more dangerous kind) for white men. Whereas for black men, excessive weight gain as a young adult prostate cancer as well, albeit it, a less aggressive form. Yet, it is important to note, that black and also Asian men have higher risk of prostate cancer for other reasons, including often lower vitamin D levels.
