34 men over the course of a 12-week double-blind, placebo-controlled cross-over trial either received a daily dose of 116 mg soy isoflavones, providing 68 mg daidzein, 12 mg genistein, and 36 mg glycitin, or placebo for 6 weeks. They were subsequently switched to the other test group for the next 6 weeks.
Bottom line:
Guys that consumed the soy isoflavones required 18 per cent fewer attempts to correctly complete the memory tasks, had 23 per cent fewer errors, and were fasting in “getting it done” relative to the memory tests by some 17 percent.
